Sigrok Revival
We are launching a revival fork of Sigrok
Hi everyone!
Welcome to Rocco Logic! We are a group of engineers invested in the open source embedded devolpment tools. After several years of watching Sigrok slowly fall into disrepair we decided that it was time to do something about it.
We all rely in one way or another on the existence and availability of an Open-Source logic analyzer system. Either for our work or for teaching. We have reached out to the remaining Sigrok maintainers offering help, but unfortunately we could not come to an agreement to help resurrect the original project. Because of that we felt compelled to take things into our own hands and start under a new name.
Unlike some other forks we want to focus on community and humans using and developing the software. This is why we introduced a Code of Conduct that includes strong rules against the use of GenAI/LLM tools. We have also decided to set up shop on codeberg which aligns with our views and offers a non corporate driven platform for open-source projects.
You might also be aware of other sigrok forks started by hardware vendors. Our goal is to bring back a vibrant hardware agnostic platform, and incorporate as much support for different logic analyzer tools as possible. We also want to work towards improving the tool user experience and improve the UI as much as possible.
